In isolation suspects or a patient is kept in an isolated place to stop the contact of a person with other people to prevent the spread of disease. Isolation refers to one of many methods to stop the spread of contagious disease from one person to another. There are various forms of isolation. In some kinds of isolation, the contact methods with patients are altered (partial isolation). In other forms of isolation, the patient is kept completely away from other people to stop the spread of contagious disease. What is the difference between isolation and quarantine? Quarantine is the separation and restriction of people who are at the potential risk of becoming sick become they were exposed to the contagious disease. People are quarantined to see if they become sick or not. These are people how are exposed to contagious disease and do not know it. On the other hand, isolation is the separation patient from other patients and people to stop the spread of infectious disease. The basic difference between isolation and quarantine is the timing of separation. In Quarantine the patient is separated to see if he becomes sick or not. But in isolation, we know for sure that the person is infected, and we isolate him to stop the spread of disease. Why is Prevention important for me? Prevention is important for you because it reduces the chances of being infected with the disease. Although prevention doesn’t give 100% surety that you will not be infected with the contagious disease, it reduces the chances of being infected. When your chances of getting infected are lowered, ultimately the chances of your loved ones getting infected will also be lowered too. There are some very to follow things to prevent the spread and getting infected with the viral disease. Avoid going to crowded places. Maintain considerable distance from people having symptoms (social distance). Sanitize your hands regularly with alcoholic sanitizer and wash your hands and face for 2 mins at least. Avoid touching your face, eyes, and mouth with hands. Keep doing self-checking that you don’t have any symptoms. Contact your doctor in case any symptoms appear. Do Isolation and quarantine prevent infection of others? Obviously, isolation and quarantine prevent the spread of disease.
